Stuart Byrne is an extremely versatile musician, playing a large variety of woodwind instruments – from piccolo to contrabass clarinet, in a broad range of styles – from jazz saxophone to classical bassoon.
He has played live with artists such as Ray Charles, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Tina Arena, Hugh Jackman and Jessica Mouboy; and recorded for others such as John Farnham, David Campbell and Marcia Hines.
Stuart has played with the Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony orchestras, in the bands for Dancing With The Stars and the TV Week Logies, and for over 50 professional theatre productions in Melbourne and Asia. He is a member of several Melbourne bands, and a regular guest with others.
Over the years, Stuart performed as a guest player in Grand WaZoo, as well as band-leader John’s jazz ensembles, prior to taking over the Baritone Chair in 2017.
