John (JT)
TONEY
JOHN TONEY , is widely known as JT. He first started singing with Grand WaZoo - Kings of Soul in 2000.
As well as singing JT is an outstanding Soul-R&B drummer and percussionist, although for most of his appearances with Grand WaZoo in recent times he has been a featured frontman with Wylie Miller. Prior to moving to Australia he performed in the US with artists like Al Green and Stevie Wonder and also grew up in the Soul era.
John was a full-time band member of Grand WaZoo for several years, but he was sought after for his talents for international and cruise shows, so then continued to appear with the WaZoo family, between other engagements.
He now features in more of the band’s shows, with his ‘bro’ Wylie J, when they are both available.
